Cookie Policy
WE53 · Version 1.1 · Last updated 2 November 2026
This website sets no cookies of its own. It runs no analytics, and it sends nothing about your visit to an advertising network. The only cookie comes from our support chat, and only if you open it.
Three preferences are kept in your browser so the site remembers what you chose. They stay on your device, and we never receive them. Two outside services see your IP address when the coverage map loads, and a third only when you open the chat. This policy explains all of it, and who to write to.
It covers the website at we53.io. The WE53 mobile application and app.we53.io are separate services with their own terms, and this policy does not describe them.
1. Cookies
Our own pages write no cookie to your browser. We load no advertising tags, no analytics, no social media widgets and no consent management platform.
The one exception is the support chat, run for us by Crisp. Nothing from Crisp is loaded until you press the chat button in the corner of the page. Once the chat opens, Crisp sets the cookies below so the conversation stays with you as you move between pages and when you come back. If you never open the chat, no cookie is set and nothing is sent to Crisp.
| Name | Set by | What it does | How long it stays |
|---|---|---|---|
crisp-client/… |
Crisp, our support chat provider | Keeps your chat session and conversation history, so you do not lose the conversation when you change page or return later. It is not used for tracking or advertising. | 6 months |
These cookies are needed only to provide the chat you asked for, so the law does not require a consent banner for them. To remove them, clear the cookies for we53.io in your browser; the chat then starts a new conversation.
If we ever add a cookie for any other purpose, we will ask your permission before anything is written to your device, and this page will be updated before it happens.
2. What is stored in your browser
The site keeps three preferences using local storage, a standard feature of your browser. Local storage is not a cookie. It is never attached to a request and never sent to our servers, so we cannot read it. It stays on the device you are using.
| Name | What it does | How long it stays |
|---|---|---|
we53-country |
Remembers which country's legal documents you were reading, so the page opens on the same one next time. | Until you clear your browsing data |
we53-legal-lang |
Remembers the language you chose for a legal document available in more than one language (for example Greek or English). | Until you clear your browsing data |
we53-notice-2 |
Remembers that you closed the cookie notice at the bottom of the page, so it is not shown again. | Until you clear your browsing data |
To remove them, clear the site data for we53.io in your browser settings. Nothing breaks without them. The site simply forgets your choices and shows the notice once more.
3. Services that see your IP address
The coverage map is drawn from files held by two outside providers. Your browser requests those files directly, so each provider receives your IP address and the usual technical details any web server receives. This is how the internet delivers a file; it is not tracking, and neither provider sets a cookie on this site. Crisp receives the same details only after you press the chat button.
| Provider | Why the page calls it | Their policy |
|---|---|---|
| OpenStreetMap Foundation | Supplies the map tiles you see behind the station markers. | osmfoundation.org |
| Cloudflare (cdnjs) | Supplies Leaflet, the library that draws the map. | cloudflare.com |
| Crisp IM SAS (France) | Runs the support chat, only once you open it. Conversations are stored in the EU. | crisp.chat |
Every other file on this site, including the fonts and the images, is served from our own domain.
4. Your choices and your rights
Unless you open the chat, nothing here identifies you, so there is no consent to give and none to withdraw. You can clear the stored preferences and the chat cookies at any time, as described in sections 1 and 2.
If you write to us in the chat, through the form on the For Business page, or by email, we process the details you send in order to reply. That is covered by our Privacy Policy, which also sets out your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation: access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability and objection.
5. Who is responsible
The website is operated by WE53. Depending on the country in which you use our service, the company responsible for your data is one of the following.
- Cyprus — WE53CY LIMITED (The Republic of Cyprus)
- Greece — WE53GR LTD, acting through its branch in Greece
- Portugal — KIT CERVICOS, UNIPESSOAL LDA
